How to add and optimize Image ALT on your Shopify store?

Last modified: November 4, 2021

With AllFetch SEO: Image Optimizer, you can optimize images using Alt Text. This article will show you how to do it in just a few simple steps.

Install our AllFetch SEO: Image Optimizer app here.

Why you need Alt Text

Alternative text (Alt text) is a brief description of an image, which will be displayed when the image cannot be shown. It provides context to what an image is displaying, informing search engine crawlers, and allowing them to index an image correctly. Therefore, it is important to have well-written alt texts for website’s accessibility and SEO practices.

About Alt Text feature

To start using this feature, you must navigate to the Alt Text section under the IMAGE OPTIMIZATION column on the left sidebar. Click the Edit button on the top of the form to change the configurations below.

Note: You can only access the features after you have selected and signed up for one of our plans. For more details on how to activate a plan, see Getting started: How to activate a plan.
