How to edit your Google Feed?

In this article, we will guide you how to set up Google Shopping Feed. Hope it’s helpful for you!

Now, let’s get started.

Step 1: Create your feed

From Product Feed Listing, click on the Create button.

Step 2: Get started

There is some basic information about the feed that you need to fill in.

  • Feed name: Give your feed a specific name (This is only visible to you)
  • Enable Feed: Turn on this section to activate your feed
  • Google Merchant Account: Connect your Google Merchant here
  • Merchant ID: Fill in Merchant ID in order to connect with Google Merchant.

Step 3: Sync Product Feed

FEED LOCALE SETTINGS

Under this section, please select the Language and Country that you want to display in Google Shopping

You can choose any of the supported languages ​​and feature your products in any country where Shopping ads and free product listings are available.

CURRENCY SETTINGS

In this section, you can set up some categories relating to the currency of your products in Google Shopping feed.

  • Currency: Select the currency that your prices are in or use a supported currency for the country where you sell your products
  • Exchange rate: If the currency in your Google Shopping feed is not the same as the one in your Shopify store, please manually fill in the exchange rate.
  • Auto update currency rate: Enable this part if you want to generate the exchange rate automatically.
  • Rounding Decimal Precision: Select number for rounding decimal precision on  your product price.
  • Example Price: Place a random number to check if it is converted correctly in the chosen currency
  • Example Converted Price: Here is where the converted price appear

FILTER BY COLLECTIONS

Collection Product: There are 2 options for you to sync products. Here is where you can specify which products are used in the feed

  • All product: This means all products in your store will be imported to the feed
  • Specific collections: Pick up one or a few particular collections to include in your feed.

Collection Type: If you choose Specific collections mode, you will have 3 options of collection type. It depends on which kind of collection that you set in your Shopify shop. Then, you will have corresponding selections.

  • Option 1: Automated / Manual.
  • Option 2: Automated.
  • Option 3: Manual

Select Collection: The chosen collections will display here

Important Reminder: Don’t forget to click on Save button to save all settings.

Step 4: Push to Google Merchant

Below is the attribute configuration of product feed to push to Google Merchant.

FEED METADATA

Tick on Include Multiple Variant if you want all variants of every product to be imported in the Feed.

Action for Out of Stock: Set up the product status for everytime pushing to Google Merchant.

  • Leave them in as “out of stock”: Default status of product feed is marked as “out of stock” before pushing to Google Merchant.
  • Leave them in as “in stock”: Default status of product feed is marked as “in stock” before pushing to Google Merchant.
  • Follow inventory policy: Automatically update status of product feed before pushing to Google Merchant.
  • Ignore inventory policy: Only update the status of product feed whenever syncing products.

Ads Platform: You don’t need to do anything with this field. The app would automatically set it for you.

Feed Format: You don’t need to do anything with these fields. The app would automatically set it for you.

Submission Identifier: There are 3 selections for you to choose from

  • Submit Brand Name, MPN (SKU) and GTIN (Barcode)
  • Submit Brand Name and MPN (SKU)
  • Submit Product as Custom Product

BASIC PRODUCT DATA

Title: This is the title of product that shoppers see on Google

  • Product Title: It will take the product title that is set for the product from Shopify in Google Shopping.
  • Product SEO title: It will take the product SEO title from Shopify in Google Shopping.

Description: Short demonstration about your product

  • Product Description: Use the product description from Shopify in Google Shopping.
  • Product SEO description: Use the product SEO description from Shopify in Google Shopping

PRODUCT CATEGORY AND IDENTIFIERS

Google Product Category

  • <Not set>: Do not use Google product category
  • Custom: Select one category from the Google product category list.

Product Brand

  • Product vendor data: Show vendor name in the feed.
  • Custom: Add a custom name for the product vendor to show in the Google product feed.

Product GTIN (The GTIN is a globally unique 14-digit number used to identify trade items, products, or services).

  • Product Barcode Data: Use Shopify product barcode on Google.
  • Product SKU Data: Use Shopify product SKU on Google.

Product MPN (Use the MPN attribute to submit your product’s Manufacturer Part Number (MPN). MPNs are used to uniquely identify a specific product among all products from the same manufacturer.)

  • Product SKU Data: Use Shopify product SKU when pushing products to Google.
  • Product Barcode Data: Use Shopify product barcode when pushing products to Google.

Product Type

  • Shopify Product Type: Use product type from Shopify in Google Shopping.
  • Custom: Add custom product type in Google Shopping.

DETAIL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Additional application required – Metafield Guru (Recommended)

In order to set up meta field data, you had better install the Metafield Guru application for your Shopify store.

Click on Create metafield then fill in the new metafields information.

Note that you must follow the Google merchant metafield rule (Learn more)

Age group

  • <not set>: No age group preferences for the products
  • Shopify Google age_group metafield: Use Google merchant’s age_group metafield. Note that you must create a corresponding “age_group” metafield in Metafield Guru.
  • Custom: Add custom age_group.

Color

  • Product option “Color” or “Colour”: Use color attributes from Shopify in Google.
  • Shopify Google color metafield: Use Google merchant’s color attributes. Note that you must create a corresponding “color” / ”colour” metafield in Metafield Guru. (they must be matching)
  • Custom: Customize the name of the product color.

Condition, Size Type, Material, Gender, Size, Size System, Pattern fields: Setup as Color and Age Group.

SHOPPING CAMPAIGNS AND OTHER CONFIGURATIONS

Custom label (0,1,2,3,4):

  • <Not set>: No label is set for the products in Google.
  • Shopify Google custom_label: Use custom_label from Google. Note that you must create a corresponding meta field in Metafield Guru app (the label must match with the one from Google).
  • Custom: Add custom labels.

FEED LEVEL SHIPPING SETTING

Shipping Label: The shipping information.

Promotions

Promotion:  Your Promotion IDs will be automatically added here after you set up the Promotion Feed.

After setting up all information, please click on Sync product > Push to Google   

Depending on the number of your products, the push to Google process may take about 30 minutes to complete.
